Active Years of Top Nollywood Actors Not Dead – Olu Jacobs, Others

The archives of Nollywood is a complete asset having the names and history of knowledgeable men and women in it. When put in one room or if they appear in a movie together, the result is a flit of pleasure. The number of actors from the 1970s to the 90s in Nigeria who are not dead including Olu Jacobs, Alex Usifo and Zulu Adigwe can make up a tall mast. It is, therefore, necessary to name them and count the gifts of Nollywood.

Olu Jacobs – The first time Olu Jacobs appeared in a film was in 1970 and he is one of the oldest Nigerian actors alive. Though quite old and with rumours of Olu Jacobs being dead, he is almost as strong as he was 20 years ago.

Alex Usifo – After seeking for jobs in media houses in the early 1980s, Alex Usifo then had a life-changing experience in church. In 84, he made a move in the movie and got a lead role almost immediately. He made more progress after then and still active and alive today in Nollywood.

Zulu Adigwe: Adigwe’s primary entry into film was at age 7. He started appearing in Nollywood movies after being in a career-defining tv-series ‘Bassey and Company’ where he played Douglas, a lead character.

Adigwe who hesitated to accept the role of Douglas had feared it will have a negative effect on his career. Being a role which Albert Egbe was originally known for before he quit in 1987, Adigwe worried fans of Egbe would not just accept him. He came with a new concept and broke all principles when he entered as a singer.
