British-Nigerian actor and director Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje made his directorial debut with the movie “Farming“. It was released in September 2018 at the Toronto International Movie Festival and is based on Adewale’s childhood. It tells the story of a young Yoruba boy, “farmed out” by his parents to a white British family. Things take a bizarre turn, however, as he becomes the leader of a white nationalist gang.

The movie is written and directed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who also has a lead role. Other big names such as Kate Beckinsale, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Damson Idris and Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji also feature in Farming.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is already a well-established actor, having played roles in “The Bourne Identity”, “Suicide Squad”, “Lost” and “Game of Thrones”. He is now taking the same path as Genevieve and doubling as both actor and director.

The interview seen below was recorded shortly after the release in Toronto, where he is joined by his co-stars Kate Beckinsale, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Damson Idris.
