2. More Nollywood Movies in Cinema

Rather than the traditional method of using DVDs at home, people now go out to cinemas to watch movies. Cinema attendance in Nigeria, for instance, has risen by 50% since the 2000s. Top 10 movies each year grosses about half of the annual box office revenue.

This, however, is harder for smaller filmmakers whose movies don’t make it to the cinemas. They struggle to find their place in the African movie space and business and therefore have difficulties recover their costs.
