The world is yet to see the best of Nollywood and other African movie industries as more African movies make it to the cinema in 2019. Let’s have a look at some of the treats to look forward to.

Levi

Set to be released February 18 2019, Levi tells a tale of a fatal teenage crush. A successful businessman is in fear of dying alone. All he can think of is finding his teenage crush who turns out be married. He stalks her and tracks her down via social media.

His obsession keeps growing, as he stops at nothing to destroy her happiness. The trailer for Levi is available for viewing below. It is an Oracle Film production and stars Ramsey Nouah, Nancy Isime, Deyemi Okanlowan, Lydia Forson, Lisa Omorodion, Bolaji Ogundamola, and Nnenna Okoro.

Foreigner’s God – One of the Best African Movies Coming in 2019

Moviegoers have been awaiting the release of “Foreigner’s God” for some time already. This upcoming African movie is perceived to become an instant classic as it is set around the peak of the colonial era Nigeria.

It is one those typical African movies which also veers into the unknown and supernatural. The release date is still unknown. However, the teaser is available and can be watched below. It is also forecasted to screen at several film festivals.

We also hope that it will be one of the Nigerian movies on Netflix or Amazon so that foreign viewers can see it too. Foreigner’s God stars Pete Edochie, Clarion Chukwura, Sam Dede, Ini Dima-Okojie, Annie Idibia, Sharon Ooja, Kyle Colton, Linda Osifo, Mel Chude, Lala Akindoju, Kunle Idowu, Teddy A, and BamBam. The movie is Ifeanyi Michael production in collaboration with Front Africa. Toka McBaror is the director.

Street Kid

“Street Kid” is made in respect to children who find themselves under any kind of child labor and child illiteracy. This is a storyline that is rare among African movies. “Street Kid” will be in African cinemas early in 2019.

The cast of “Street Kid” include Toyin Abraham, Kate Henshaw, Chioma Akpotha, Kalu Ikeagwu, Jibola Dabo, Rachel Oniga, Patrick Doyle and Femi Durojaiye.

In this 2019 African movie, a child is forced to drop out of school to be a street seller. But the story takes a turn as the poor kid ends up being of great help to a rich kid participating in a spelling competition. Tony Dudu is the director of “Street Kid”, while Wale Muraina and Dickson Edward are co-producers. Watch the teaser for the movie below.
