We have always envisaged Adesua Etomi an action star, but with Nollywood movies like ‘The Wedding Party’, you start doubting she could handle a gun, let alone a sword.
Filming ‘Muna’ must have given her that perfect experience every actor seek. From her comments on social media, where she wrote: “I cannot wait for you guys to see what we created”, we believe it did. Adesua is known for her role as Dunni in the popular rom-com ‘The Wedding Party‘. But before that role, she had been in AY’s dramedy ’10 Days in Sun City’.
In the movie, she plays a character that depicts women as materialistic romantic tools. Her character is a submissive and weak girlfriend who her boyfriend helps in getting an education and a life. Now he also has to fight to keep their relationship when a rich business mogul gets in their way.
The actress has quickly moved up to being one of Nigeria’s A-listers. In her few years career in Nollywood, Adesua Etomi has showed some diversity in her acting:
- She has played the character of an abused wife
- She has played the headstrong girlfriend
- The most popular of them all, A wedding bride
Her role in ‘Muna‘ may, therefore, be bringing the complete opposite of what we have ever seen of her before. She is no longer the mistreated housewife of a violent pastor, she is a samurai warrior. Get used to the idea and prepare yourself to see Adesua suited like the strong female that she is.
