Nigerian movie stars don’t go out to local bars and restaurants to eat or hang out. They don’t take their kids to public birthday parties, instead, they find secure and gated locations. It is also a bad idea to hang around their houses because you want to see a movie star. You might run into them if you go to big eateries around your house, but it is also very rare.
There are, however, a few tricks to find out where most of them go and how they hang out. Try any of these pointers and we can almost guarantee, you will meet your favorite Nigerian movie stars.
Go To Movie Locations
Ask people that might have information about movie locations and make a list of the ones in your locality. If you visit them, you might get to see your favorite actors in action.
Attend Events With Them
If you follow their plans and what they post on social media, then you may already know when they have parties. But to avoid stalking actors, find out about private parties and events. However, star ceremonies that involve more than one actor might be better as you get to meet more than one of them. Some of these ceremonies are open to the public. This is better than just meeting them one after the other.
Line The Red Carpet For Awards and Movie Premieres
Movie premieres are often announced by the actors and by the media. If you are not a part of the industry, you will likely need a ticket to watch a movie premiere. On the other hand, you can hang around outside and watch them arrive at the event. For the biggest African award show, AMAA, you might have to book tickets months ahead of the show. But if you don’t want to pay, you are always allowed to stand outside and join the red carpet line.
Festivals and Carnivals
Nollywood actors and directors often come out to attend carnivals in their localities. They also go to many local film festivals to promote their movies. If you can attend film festivals, you will meet and interact with the best actors that Nollywood has.
