Davido has become an international sensation and recently he received a platinum certification for some of his 2019 works. The recording industry of South Africa last weekend handed him a plaque.
Plaques are music certificates or otherwise known as RIAA certificates artist for receives for his/her record sales. A Gold or Platinum award represents how much sales and on-demand streams made legitimately on recorded music.
Artists usually have to apply for this award and RIAA tracks their recording. Achieving this is a criterion of success for any artist.
The recent plaque which Davido shared contained:
- A Platinum Album – ‘A Good Time’
- Double Platinum Single – ‘Risky’
- A Platinum Single – ‘Blow my Mind’ feat. Chris Brown
