Pay-TV operator, StarTimes is now providing its millions of subscribers and streaming clients in Nigeria and across Africa with DreamWorks animation films. The network recently secured the deal with the NBCUniversal International Networks to broadcast DreamWorks entertainment content which focuses on kids.
DreamWorks is a 24-hour channel and StarTimes will be broadcasting its films in all 34 territories where it operates. Since it began, there could be a rise in demand in the Pay-TV’s service as the interest among kids seem to be rising now. The network has aired films like All Hail King Julien and The Adventures Of Puss In Boot.
DreamWorks Junior, for much younger kids, also applies in the deal between both parties. This complements the operator’s over 600 channels.
StarTimes had been providing entertainment to children in Nigeria from channels like Nickelodeon, ST Kids, Toonami, Cbeebies and Jimjam. The operator is also an affordable option for many households making it a favourite getaway for kids and families.
Lily Meng, head of StarTimes Media division said: “This launch demonstrates our continuous commitment to providing premium content to African families”. StarTimes also envisions every African family having access to affordable entertainment.
Having quizzed its followers on their knowledge of DreamWorks TV shows on Facebook, the network gave some of its subscribers the chance to access StarTimes ON VIP for one week. This was to celebrate the launch of DreamWork on its platform.
DreamWorks films are showing on StarTimes SUPER bouquet Channel 301 and CLASSIC bouquet, channel 354 in Nigeria.
