Nollywood has for decades been presenting unique original Nigerian and African stories. It is already an important factor in promoting African culture. It also constitutes a significant part of the Nigerian economy.
The focus of the Nigerian movie industry is rapidly shifting from quantity to quality. They are opening themselves up for bigger markets with this new goal. However, Nollywood inadvertently refuses to organise itself.
The industry and all practitioners, small and big seem disconnected – from actors to extras and everything in-between.
If Nollywood is going to get where they are hoping for in the next years, every single body, as well as hierarchy and structure, have to be recognised and outlined.
Aside from lacking organisation, there is a need to rid Nollywood of the stagnation.
It is very important that new talents are recruited regularly but the system is rather slow to recognise that. Nollywood will remain the same if they don’t begin to look deeper to bring everyone on board.
This is one of the ideas behind Nollymania. We want to set a system that directly mirrors back Nollywood, its structure and composition.
Most importantly, we want to manage the kind of stories that come from Nollywood.
We consider that part of the organisation that Nollywood should have.
All the latest Nollywood activities, growth and businesses from Nollywood will also be available here.
