The outcome of many movies is sometimes dependent on the music selected for the background, also known as soundtracks.
These kinds of music are important in movies to help establish moods and sometimes movies are impossible without them.
Adding music to movies is simple and a good movie soundtrack will replay in peoples heads years after.
We still remember many old Nollywood movies today because of the music that were selected for them.

Nollywood hardly uses pre-existing music or hire big artists to make music for movies. Only very few movie producers have hired a Nigerian musician to write a song specifically for a movie project.
Instead, there are dedicated film music artists in Nollywood that are hired for most movie projects. Nollywood is still in need of people within this field, and you can make yourself very relevant by joining this band of music makers.
Although, getting your music to be selected for Nollywood movies will require some expertise. So, you will need a kind of education in music. This will give you an edge as a composer in Nollywood.
How to get an education for film music
There are several ways to get an education in music scoring. You can choose to attend a music school in Nigeria or take online courses like the bachelor’s degrees offered on the Berklee Online platform.
Popular Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage, who recently signed a deal with Universal Music Group (UMG) is a product of Berklee College of Music.
The Berklee Master of Music in Film Scoring program officially begins in January 2020, with applications launching on May 13, 2019. From anywhere in the world you can acquire a Master’s Degree.

They will give you directions….its all part of the education I believe. Tiwa Savage had the same education.
After getting the music education, what next? How do we get in the industry? Who do we talk to? How can we contact the people in charge and get our music used?
