The recent wedding of Halima Junaid, the first granddaughter of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, was held with deep Islamic tradition and cultural significance in Kaduna.
The ceremony took place at the Yahaya Road Jum’at Mosque in Kaduna and drew the attendance of numerous dignitaries. Vice President Kashim Shettima, had the honor of formally giving the bride’s hand in marriage.
The event also attracted political and social figures such as the Governor of Kaduna State, former Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami SAN, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission Abdulrazaeed Bawa, and security officials.

It was not only a celebration of love but also a reflection of the enduring influence and heritage of late President Buhari. The late former President’s values continue to resonate within his family and the broader Nigerian society.
After the wedding, Vice President Shettima paid a condolence visit to Buhari’s widow, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, conveying the warm regards and support of President Bola Tinubu. The occasion drew messages of goodwill and prayers for the couple’s happy and prosperous married life.
This event highlights the lasting personal and political legacy of Muhammadu Buhari, even after his death in July 2025. More so, it underscores the respect and prominence his family continues to hold within Nigerian society and governance circles.
