Despite what you might find on the Internet, Nigerian actors never reveal what they are paid. So most data available out there are speculations. There is no way to calculate this fact like is done with Hollywood actors where there are pay calculators to review what an actor earns. Not SAG pay calculator or Payroll.com or Celebrity Worth can tell you what a Nigerian actor earns. So far, social media has always been the master decider of the richest Nigerian actors and that hasn’t changed in 2019. Which is also why most of the information related to this might be misleading.
When other Nigerians working normal jobs see such information, they tend to aspire for the money that Nigerian actors make. Nobody ever tells them that they could be making more. Also, the net worth or high pay you read over the internet does not equate success and some Nigerian actors are doing other jobs to stay afloat. Aside from acting, many of them are brand ambassadors and others have personal businesses.
It might also interest you to know that Nollywood actors are allowed to ask for any amount they want when offered a job. However, the security level for actors in Nollywood is still quite low. They don’t get as much as non-refundable advance payments in case they are replaced or the work is cancelled. Nollywood is still having a hard time organising themselves on things like this as well as on things like pay calculator.
