‘Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons’ devised a rather unfamiliar plot and acting which was pleasant. It was a bit of an advanced version of what Nollywood is. ‘Merry Men 2’ will be in cinemas December 20, and this time they are set out on another stealing vocation.
The movie has an unusual feel and acting which most people like. Most seem to agree with the idea of ripping off top government officials to give to the underprivileged. Now that pattern has been laid off and the sequel promises to use more of an intense method.
The first Merry Men movie is strictly focusing on the four burglars Amaju Abioritsegbemi, Ayo Aleshinloye, Remi Martins, and Naz Okigbo. They huddle up for the sake of one the Merry Men, Ayo Aleshinloye whose fondness for his old neighbourhood becomes a justification for stealing.
In the first part, they succeed in the operation, however, the sequel will be a whole new mission. Their new mission entails that more people will be introduced as cast members. They will learn of the secret treasure of the rich and exploit them.
Will they succeed in the new mission? What will the new casts be playing – villain or hero? While we wait to find out, here is a little recap of two important scenes that will reflect what’s about to come. These scenes are an introduction to everything else that the movie is about.
The Arrival of the Merry Men
The first part of the movie opens with the grand arrival of the Merry Men who were particularly confident on nailing their plan for the evening. On the other side of the party venue, Dame Bethany Maduka dances to celebrate herself as she officially turns 50. She is thrilled to see the Merry Men at her party and she happens to be in charge of many contracts that the Merry Men will later on acquire.
When the Merry Men realises Garki will be Demolished
After having a successful operation at the night of the party, Remi reveals to the rest of the Merry Men what he had discovered. The news of the demolishing of Garki hit Ayo badly, and he realises this is a discovery calling his attention.
Fans speculate that this scene has something to do with a similar event in Abuja about 12 years ago.
