Yvonne Orji, a Nigerian American, 36-year-old and accomplished, is bracing her Nigeria root. This is partly the theme of the standup comedy special.

Molly, her “Insecure” character has rallied some negative energy from viewers to the actress after making extremely annoying choices. The actress is her self, Yvonne Orji in this hour-long comedy special “Momma, I Made It” coming during the fourth season of HBO “Insecure”.

Yvonne Orji abdicated medicine and pursued comedy against her parent hopes. For years she was struggling in New York and Los Angeles as a comedian before her break out role in “Insecure”. This is her first onscreen special and her relationship with her parents is the bases of the stand-up.

It also reckons her Nigeria background, with a focus on culture. She also provides essentials in footage from her visit to Ihiala and Lagos to relish the comedy. She says it was a part of her investment into being Nigerian.
