The poster for the upcoming movie ‘Muna’ was recently released. It has left people with questions like – ‘Is Muna a Nigerian movie?’ It features a number of Nigerian actors, including Adesua Etomi, but also several big names from Hollywood. In other words, it is a collaboration across the Atlantic, where Nollywood and Hollywood have joined forces.
This all sounds very promising, but it has also been showing some signs that could be cause for concern. These are some of the details that make us wonder what the new movie is going to offer:
- ‘Muna’ has waited for 2 years to be released
- When the production of a movie takes this long, chances are there were re-shooting or that a key staff withdrew halfway through filming.
- It’s 7 days to be released, there is yet no trailer
- For a movie that has waited this long to be released, it is disappointing that there is still no trailer available.
- When actors begin to extend their limit
- One of the photos of Adesua holding a Samurai sword has been spotted on social media. She appears to be playing a martial art character and this is off for an actor who primarily does drama. It is not uncommon for drama stars to eventually become bored with only playing emotional roles. However, we are hoping Muna won’t be another parody of a Nigerian action movie.
‘Muna’ also features Falz, Onyeka Onwenu, Ebele Okaro, and the wonder woman actress Mayling Ng. The shooting of ‘Muna’ which took place in Nigeria and Los Angeles was concluded in March 2017.
