For the last two years, film director Nadine Ibrahim along with her team, have worked on the documentary ‘Marked’. The description on the poster reads: “Marked explores the reasons behind scarification in Nigeria and how they intertwine with beauty, Identity and Spirituality”.
We are looking forward to getting an insight into the lives of the marked. It will be interesting to see how ‘Marked’ by Nadine Ibrahim handles themes like:

The artwork of the eye-watering poster really raises our expectations for the upcoming movie. It also triggers a number of questions:
1. What will the people who have these marks learn about themselves?
2. How is faith presented in the documentary and how does it connect to religion?
3. What do the people who are marked believe in? How do they handle things that come as a mystery to them? Are the marks spiritual or even fetish?
4. Does the film say anything about humanity and the entire human nature?
5. What does the film say about families and relationships?
6. Do these people still see themselves as an image of God after being marked? Or does the film in any way present these marks as a human rebellion against God?
7. Were these marks a decision for the people involved or were they forced?
8. Does the documentary get everything right? Is it possible to cover a complex topic like this in a relatively short documentary movie?
9. How will ‘Marked’ affect the people watching it?
