It’s another moment of songwriting experience for songsters in Africa as Cookout Africa, a masterclass handled by multiple Grammy nominee, Vincent Le Carl Berry II opens for the second edition.
This year, the program opens to Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, The Gambia and Sierra Leone. In a virtual meeting which will hold on September 23, Berry will have an interactive songwriting session with creatives.
They get to share their songwriting knowledge in the Vincent Berry II masterclass writing artistic songs, teaming up to learn and practice. Berry will put the songs out for commercial prospects afterwards.
What is Cookout Africa?
Cookout Africa is an element of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2021) which is organised by The African Export-Import Bank, Afreximbank, and the African Union, AU. The creative industry in Africa is one of the major focuses of the IATF2021 event. It aims to see the continent maintain fresh, lively with culturally significant products while infusing contemporary ideas.
Cookout Africa hopes to promote team building and collaboration as a way to awaken African songwriters of their own creativity. The program has been a success in its previous editions in Eastern and Southern Africa.
