Nollywood actress Stephanie Linus was recently honoured for her movie “Dry” in an event for blacks in Los Angeles. The event, Blacks In Cinema is the first ever to have been held and it took place at the Los Angeles City Council. It is part of the celebration of Black History Month. Several photos from the event have been released which we shared in our last post.
DRY was selected to screen for the second time at the forthcoming Pan African Film & Art Festival (PAFF). The movie had previously won Best Narrative Feature at the PAFF 2016. However, due to its relevance in human right advocacy, it was recalled to the festival. The selection was influenced by the fact that DRY is making a huge positive impact on changing the narratives concerning child marriage and other forms of social injustice. It will run for three days at the festival.
The actress met several legendary actors and she also shared a photo with Tina Knowles. She has also expressed joy for being honoured at the event on several social media platforms.
