It is hard not to notice and it might be the first since the 21st century that a Nigerian music video is void of women. Naira Marley just dropped ‘Tingasa’ video which is one of the tracks on the ‘Lord or Lamba‘ album released some weeks earlier.
‘Tingasa’ could be branded a sexists video, not one woman is seen throughout playtime of 2:54 minutes. Naira Marley had previously made videos with women in it. However, fans can’t seem to handle this. Many have thrown him the question ‘why aren’t there any women in the video’?
On the other side, the video and dance steps seemed masculine. So it didn’t seem like a completely bad idea to make it without women. ‘Tingasa’ video is available for streaming and downloading here:
