Nyekachi Douglas Of Nigeria Wins Top Model At Miss World 2019

The 2019 final day for the Miss World Beauty Pageant is almost here. We have taken some time to shorten details of the upcoming event to help you follow. The opening ceremony which held in November had contestants competing in a series of fast track events around the city of London. The 69th edition of the Miss World Pageant holds December 14, at the ExCel London, London UK. Nyekachi Douglas of Nigeria won the Head-to-Head in group 11 and is currently in the top 40 contestants of the 2019 Miss World competition.

The rest of the Head-to-Head winners which include Nepal, Philipines, Mexico, Guyana, Paraguay. India, Trinidad and Tobago, Moldova and Venezuela are also guaranteed a spot at the top 40.

She has advanced in all sections of the competition and also became the winner of the ‘Top Model‘ competition. Earlier on in the ‘Sports Competition’, she got second place. Douglas appears in the top 10 of ‘Beauty with a Purpose’. Miss Nigeria also gets to face Piers Morgan in an interview at the Saturday final of Miss World 2019. Douglas hopes to be the second to bring the crown back to Nigeria after Agbani Darego in 2001. Anita Uka represented Nigeria at the Miss World 2018 Pageant in China.

  • Vanessa Ponce of Mexico is the current holder of the Miss World title.
  • Miss Ukraine, Veronika Didusenko was stripped of her title for being a mom and once married. This means she doesn’t get to participate in the ongoing Miss World Pageant. The model is taking legal action against the pageant for this.
  • Peter Andre is appointed presenter at the event.
  • There are 111 entrants for the 2019 Miss World Pageant.
  • Nine models who had competed some years prior returned for this year’s contest.
  • In 2020, it will be the 70th birthday of the Miss World Pageant. The event will hold in Thailand.
