The name Reinhard Bonnke can not be said without a mention of Africa. Until his death, Reinhard Bonnke would always say that God used him to bring salvation to Africa. This brings us to take a look back at his life and missions in Africa until his farewell gospel crusade in 2017.
His first visit to Africa was at age 10 after he experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
In 1967 he began his ministry in, Lesotho, Africa after graduating from the Bible College of Wales in Swansea.
The evangelist began his ministry with tents that could accommodate about 800 people.
In the beginning, he experienced poor turn out and little growth despite his efforts and this frustrated him. He began having dreams about Africa in which always heard the voice of God saying to him, Africa shall be saved.
The open-air crusade era was born after the wind destroyed a massive tent built to accommodate the growing crowd in the mid-80s.
In 1974, Christ for all Nations (CfaN) was founded in Johannesburg before it was relocated to Frankfurt Germany in 1986. This was to stop the apartheid policy from having any effect on the organisation of the CfaN.
From 1990 to 1999, he was absent from ministering in Nigeria which was later reopened in 1999.
He continued visiting Africa until November 2017 when he had his farewell gospel crusade in Lagos, Nigeria.
