All divisions of Nollywood can offer you money this year, but there are things you can do to get ahead.
Make short films
Your work deserves to be seen but nobody is finding it and no one has offered to help your work. Whether you are a scriptwriter or find passion in any other aspects of filmmaking, you can do a short film first.
The market for short films is expanding too as new streaming services are launching every day, so leverage that.
What’s more exciting is that a good short film will not only announce you, it could make you enough money for a feature. You could also land big filmmaking opportunities.
Combine your work in Nollywood with a side hustle
There are several jobs slices that can fetch you money in Nollywood. But sometimes it feels like there is very little money you can make from all of them combined. You could step outside of the industry sometimes and use your best skills to do entirely different and unrelated jobs to make money this year.
Invest in other people
While this might sound like a bad idea, it is also a way to prevent idling. Use the money you have now to invest in other people’s films and profit from it later. Approach filmmaker and find out what percentage you can make from such investment.
