Before the release of the upcoming remake of ‘The Lion King’, it is important to go back and familiarise yourself with certain bits of the old movie. While the story of the African Pride isn’t altered, some bits from the original movie will be. Other items like the picture, the music and the voices might see observable changes. All scenes of the film will probably be reproduced in more colourful settings.
‘The Lion King’, the story of the African Pride – What to expect from the new movie
- This version will be 29 mins longer.
- Some iconic scenes have been kept. In the previous version, just one African Baobab tree is seen in the opening scene ”The Circle of Life”. The sunrise scene in the remake is, however, covered with Baobab trees. This will sort of bring Africa’s savanna land to life.
- You will see many changes in Rafiki.
- Lion King will feature songs from the 1994 film. Tracklist will include remakes from previous composers and writers Hans Zimmer, Elton John and Tim Rice.
It has also been reported that the remake utilizes photorealistic computer-animation. Side by side photos of the 1994 and 2019 films was compared and they looked incredibly different.
Many who have viewed the trailer of the new film claim that it seems to have too many similarities to the previous version. However, the trailer set a path to reconnect the 1994 version with the remake. The intention, as Jon Favreau noted is to make a unique film without dishonouring the original. The new Lion King stars the voices of Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, John Kani, John Oliver, James Earl Jones, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard and Donald Glover.
