When you use the word “Action”, not in the command tone, but “Action in Nollywood,” you may not finish without saying the name Sylvester Madu. He is a talented actor/director, featuring in almost every movie he directs. He is among the actors/directors that Nollywood is looking to upgrade the action genre in the industry. Just like the Epic Channel, the action movies should be getting close to being one of the genres that will be a designated channel on African Magic. This way we can see more of Emma Ehumadu, Sylvester Madu, Zubby Micheals and all the stunts like are seen in Hollywood movies.
However, these movies may still need to upgrade if they are going to be anything like Hollywood. Having seen the kind of visual effects used in Hollywood fight scenes, Nollywood still has a long way before they get there. Emma Ehumadu and Sylvester Madu, are probably going to work their way up there. These guys have some really good ideas, and though nobody is ever really able to keep up with Hollywood when it comes to action, I still think these guys will give Nollywood the kind of action it needs to elevate the genre.
