Netflix reported an equitable financial and subscribers growth, a weak Q3 forecast but also a promotion of its original content officer, Ted Sarandos to Co-CEO.

Sarandos had been leading the company’s original content divisions and he is still going to maintain the role. Netflix most recent actions in Nigeria and project discussions were also headed by Ted Sarandos.

With this executive spot, Sarandos said he committing to pushing more boundaries for the company’s benefit.

Shuffling its executive board does not change the daily operations of the company as Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix suggested.

In a post, Hastings attributes a large amount of the company’s recent success to Sarandos. He said, “Ted drove the revolution in our content strategy, which was way ahead of its time and has been key to our continued success”

Netflix customer base grew by 10 million subscribers in the past quarter and a total of 192.95 million paid membership.

Having paused production due to the pandemic, the streamer is now slowly getting back to it all over the world. This includes in Nigeria its deal with Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife for a number productions and adaptions.

It’s 2020 schedule which is packed with new originals and international co-productions is unchanged. It has slated huge titles including originals to follow after the pause in production.
