Biggest Nollywood Project Ever?
This project is one which African producers describe as Nollywood’s biggest movie project ever. While in the country McMahon will be visiting and survey film locations. Port Harcourt, Lagos, Ibadan, Rivers and Abuja are sone of the alternatives. He will also use his time in the country to familiarize himself with the available equipment and film infrastructure in the country.
McMahon will discuss the movie cast as well as useful collaborations with top Nollywood actors and filmmakers during his visit. They will work closely during the production of the crime drama which is themed with events from militancy and terrorism in the Niger Delta Region of the country. The interwoven relationship of two groups, causing discomfort and detriment, will be the focus of the storyline.
Terry McMahon Thrilled to be in Africa
Terry McMahon has a history of speaking up against the government of his own country. Apparently this makes him feel some connection with his Nigerian hosts. According to Scannain, this is how McMahon reply to why he is bringing his talents to Africa is:
No culture on earth embraces audacity more than Africa. They don’t care that you took some small action against the government’s murderous austerity, they admire it. They don’t care that you’re a pink-skinned, black-listed Paddy who can’t keep his damned mouth shut, they love it.
The only thing our African brothers really care about is whether or not you’ll put everything on the line to make a movie. And that’s the only thing I care about too. Which is why I love those beautiful bastards right back.
