Ultimate breakup 2020. Roksie – Rosemary and Kachi – was working until it wasn’t.
It is very easy to blame every break up including the ultimate breakup – Roksie – in 2020 on COVID-19 and its accomplices. Unfortunately, that can not happen since almost everything with Roksie was public and we are still struggling to take sides.
The organisers of the show African Magic were never hell-bent on the couples remaining together forever. So a future break up could not have been too surprising.
What AM did want was to touch the lives of contestants as it rightly noted with Roksie “Life has changed forever for Ultimate Love winners Roksie”.

Roksie breakup – The terms of the ultimate love reality show
The ultimate prize was to find love. However, AM generously offered an all-expense-paid wedding and a wholly furnished home if the winning couple decides to get married.
The winners of ultimate love reality show season one, Roksie were also going to get a cash prize of N5 million after the first year of their marriage. Months later, Roksie has broken up to Rosemary (Rosie) Afuwape and Onyekachi (Kachi) Ucheawgu.
They have lost the prizes, are now very single and available for new relationships. Roksie could decide to come back together, and could still be able to collect their ultimate cash.
Rosie and Kachi, entrance speech, love pad and life after breakup
- Be yourself, be real 100% – Rosemary
- Forever, eternity and companionship – Kachi
Roksie fells in love during the show and got engaged on the night of their win before they exited the show. According to Kachi, he had ordered for a ring while in the house in the event of a win.
Months after the love pad, we were expecting a wedding and hopefully the arrival of a baby. Instead, the news of their breakup greeted us on social media. The “baby” clause happens to be the bone of contention for the two.
We hoped that things could have been different for Roksie, but for now, we can only give our support.
It was their wish to get into the relationship and was theirs to leave.
Breakups are unpleasant and Kachi is so far chilling with his saxophone and playing melancholic tones while Rosie appears to have moved very far on.
DSTV show Ultimate Love worked for other couples of the first season but could use some improvements to help subsequent couples last.
Big question…
What really happens to “numero uno” – like most people say “I knew he/she was the one” – after a relationship ends in a breakup rather than marriage?
