Kunle Afolayan Movie Citation – Themed on Violence Against Women

A press briefing on the new movie ‘Citation’ by Kunle Afolayan was recently held. The team of filmmakers working on ‘Citation’ shared with the public that the backdrop of the movie is violence against women and girls.

The creators of the movie are aiming to inform women on rights. Also to let them know how to live above abuse and violation in a society where the issue is more or less cancer. ‘Citation’ will provide women with ideas that will help them aspire to become successful.

In ‘Citation’ a university bully, Lucien N’Dyare infuriates a postgraduate student by constantly mistreating her. She decides to act by dragging him to the school senate. How this plays out for both Moremi, Lucien, as well as the senate and the rest of the female students, makes us more inquisitive about ‘Citation’

‘Citation’ is written by Tunde Babalola. Kunle Afolayan and his ‘Citation’ team will be using locations around Nigeria, Senegal and Cape Verde for the movie. The project is supported by several partners.
