The Rise of Igbinogun (2021)

Nollywood traditional drama arrives on Netflix Naija this week. A young lady leads a gang of rebels and is captured. She invokes the supernatural to help her overpower and succeed in her quest to steal from them and give to the poor.

Directed by Innocent Ideh. The movie deals with the disparity between wealth and poverty as an age-long issue.

It is one of the few traditional Nollywood movies available on Netflix and had a decent theatre run in 2022.

Can You See Us?

On Netflix Naija August 27th

A twelve years girl portrays a boy who was vilified by his father for being an Albino. Based on real events, Thabo Kaamba courageously takes on a role that affects her and other kids like her in the movie.

Can You See Us? quickly hit the global stage and will stream on Netflix making the first feature film out of Zambia to do that.

The movie takes a hard topic and rubs it in the face of all albino vilifiers.
