Soundcity MVP Awards have been running at least four years. It is a much younger music award show and has way fewer categories than its counterparts – AFRIMMA and AFRIMA. Top music artists including Wizkid has always been known to go home with at least one win. However, last night the case was different for Wizkid, Diamond Platnumz and other artists at Soundcity MVP Awards 2020. This list shows artists who made the nominations list but lost to other artists after the event.
Wizkid was nominated in the Best Male MVP category as Davido, Diamond Platnumz, King Promise, Burna Boy, Sjava.
By the end of the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards night, Wizkid lost the award to Burna Boy. Despite being nominated in two other categories, the artist has no MVP Awards for 2020. This year Davido won Digital Artiste of the Year which Wizkid won two years in a row – 2017 and 2018.

- Best Male Artist – 2016 (Maiden Ceremony)
- Digital artist of the year – 2017
- Digital artist of the year – 2018
- Best Collaboration (With Terri, Spotless, Ceeza Milli for ‘Soco’) – 2019
Diamond Platnumz won nothing this year though he had four MVP nominations. He was also nominated in the Best MVP Male Category where he won in 2017.
Yemi Alade also had her third MVP loss having been nominated in three categories. She won the Best Female in the maiden edition of the award and it is her only Soundcity MVP Awards win.
