Africa International Film Festival, AfRIFF 2021 screens “Encounter” by Michael Pearce.
With 22 features films, 21 documentaries, over 70 short films (only about 30 in competition), 15 animations, from around Africa, AfRIFF returns in 2021 with support from Prime Video, Amazon Studios.
Major award winners from other International Film Festivals as well as top film industry personnel from Prime Video have been confirmed for AfRIFF 2021.
AfRIFF 2021 lineup is strong – Nigeria is leading the number of films submitted as well as the number of selections in competition with a few having their world premiere at the festival running from November 7 – 13.
Some highlights of the festival to hold at the Landmark Center Lagos;
- AFRIFF 2021 Opens with ENCOUNTER | Directed by Michael Pearce (United States) on November 7. Scheduled for limited release on December 3, 2021, by Amazon Studios. Prime Video enables streaming on December 10, 2021.
- Closes with COLLISION | Directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters (Nigeria) on November 13.
Access to AfRIFF 2021 opening and closing films, is strictly on invitation. All films and industry programmes will showcase on five screens at the Landmark Center.
