Actors in Nigeria are already kickstarting 2019. Popular Nollywood actors, Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze (aka Aki and Pawpaw) will be going on a business trip to Kigali in February. They will stay in the capital of Rwanda from February 11 to 18. While in Kigali, they will launch a project called “One Africa Connect”. The aim of the project is to connect Africa’s entertainment industries through training and screening of actors. The company “Kigali Entertainment Promoters” has partnered with the project.

An opportunity to partake in different movies will be given to the lucky ones. They will get roles in movies with Aki and Pawpaw as well as other top Nollywood actors.
The duo will also be at the Kigali conference and exhibition village (Camp Kigali) on February 14, where they will stage a comedy show. Afterwards, they will begin a three-day training with people in the movie industry. The training is also open to whoever wishes to join.
The company hopes to promote the film industry of Rwanda as well as Rwandan actors and artists. This was stated by the managing director of the company, Belinda Umererwa. She believes the project is one that has come to change the face of entertainment in Rwanda. Belinda Umererwa also noted that they have a plan to establish a film studio in Rwanda, that is likely to lift the Rwandan movie industry.
Aki and PawPaw will be back in Nigeria on February 18. However, they will return to Kigali in March, for their first drama series called “The Big Tea”.
Nollywood apparently has become appealing to many African countries. The hope of every Nollywood actor is to see the Nigerian film industry transformed into an international film powerhouse. This is also why the duo have accepted to work in this project.
