Marie Fredriksson, one of the Swedish pop duo Roxette has passed on Monday at 61. The singer formed Roxette with Per Gessle in 1986.
Many people who listened to the duo and watched them perform is deeply saddened by the news.
Fredriksson suffered a long-lived illness and suffered from a brain tumour in 2002. She went under treatment which was successful but left her with some damages. She lost her hearing, one eye and movability. These complications also made her unable to read, write or speak for a period after treatment. Marie Fredriksson slowly returned to the world stage performing with Roxette partner after a period of time before her death.
Fredriksson lived for 61 years from May 30, 1958 – December 9, 2019. Her memory lives on with her husband and two children as well as with her fans.
