Some amazing Nigerian movies including The Bling Lagosians have been released in the first half of 2019. We wonder if the ones coming in the second half of the year will beat any of them. With so many good African movies to compete, the AMAA AWARDS 2019 will be a tough one. New Nigerian movie, Bling Lagosians premiered at the Film House Cinema in Lekki, Lagos in June. It is the directorial debut of Bolanle Austen-Peters.

Affluence and flamboyance run in the Holloway family. But when they lose their wealth, they wanted to retain the reputation and glory they acquired from being wealthy. They are in so much debt, but still wanted the lifestyle they had in the past. However, they now have to try too hard to look and live wealthy.
This is the lifestyle of many lagosians as the film depicts. Some will take profound steps to save their profile and be counted among the 1% wealthy. There were depictions of intricate issues that everyone sees and yet pretend they are fine. The greed and deceit portrayed in the movie will leave you wondering what is underneath the party lifestyle of the Lagos elite. Also, humour flowed all through the running time of the movie. The funny scenes you see are some of the best so far in 2019.
Former Big brother Housemates, Bisola and Bambam feature in the new Nigerian movie, The Bling Lagosians. The rest of the cast members include Jide Kosoko, Mona Lisa Chinda, Alex Ekubo, Elvina Ibru, Gbenga Titiloye, Helen Paul, Toyin Abraham and Osas.
