Netflix is now locked in with African movies and more Nigerian movies make it to the platform every month. Among the most recent addition is ‘Lagos Real Fake Life’ which is receiving very high ratings locally. With its addition to Netflix, we like to see how everyone else rates this wild comedy.
LRFL is definitely not in the kind of ‘Mike and Daves Need Wedding Dates’ comedy. It is a mediocre comedy which questions your sanity and reality.
In the movie, people lose their way from trying to live a life that’s not real without caring who gets hurt. They don’t mind the consequences of their sloppy life.
Everything about the life of the lead characters, Emeka and Chidi (Nonso Diobi and Mike Ezuruonye) is a lie. They lie to every girl they meet with and borrow everything they need to impress the girls.
‘Lagos Real Fake Life’ is insanely true and mirrors how many Nigerian men like to treat women in the country. For such a disgusting practice, this is not the kind of criticism we were hoping for. We would expect that it should have been made to empower the women to stand up against the custom. For some reason, the creators of this movie didn’t have this in mind when they made the movie. They were more interested in making a joke out of it.
