Nollywood actress Stephanie Linus is driving healthy living among Nigerians with a new campaign which she calls “Hygiene First – My New Habit”.
Stephanie Linus launched the “Hygiene First – My New Habit” campaign under the Extended Hands Foundation.
It is preemptive for her that hygienics should be infused into the culture of living in Nigeria with “Hygiene First – My New Habit”.
She considers “Hygiene First” an appropriating mechanism to campaign for a long-term and purposeful lifestyle change among Nigerians.
In a statement, she said that managing personal and community hygiene is the most preventive tool for person-to-person transmittable diseases.
Personal and community hygiene is a responsibility for every Nigeria and the campaign is hoping to drive that. People and communities in Nigeria need to be conscious of their hygiene habits.
“Maintaining good health and sustaining the beauty of our city all starts with us,” she said.
Beginning with the simple steps of clean habits and deliberately practising them, people will commit to good health and cleaner cities.
Self-worth and confidence begin with good hygiene practices. More so, it impacts the lives of others around. She encourages simple habits and offers tips and ideas that families can integrate into their daily lives:
Regular hand washing
Proper waste disposal
Deep cleaning of homes and public spaces
“These changes, when positive and deliberate, help in shaping our lives far more than we probably realize”.
As the world begins to reopen, there has to be a conscious effort to keep another wave of coronavirus at bay. All WHO hygiene guidelines must go on. The “Hygiene First” campaign is one of those actions that will remind people of the need to keep up with the WHO hygiene protocol.
