New Oscars submissions from African countries are becoming more frequent these last years. Until the 42nd Oscars when Algeria submitted a film for the first time, Egypt had led African countries from 1958. Its been one African country after the other ever since and this year, 10 movies gained entrance to the 2020 Oscars.
Nigeria and Ghana qualified for this year’s submission which is also their first Oscars submissions. The African movies submitted are those to be enthusiastic about come 2020 Oscars. They are those that will bring you great experiences from the next Oscars. They are on the way there now and you should get them or stream them and preserve them.

Nominations are hard to come by for African movies submitted at the Oscars, and the last time that happened was in 2014. Whether or not these films get nominations, Africa does persevere in all things.
These new submissions also take us into looking at the hard roads to the Oscars and Africa’s unending hope to transcend. When African films make it to the Oscars, they only able to advance to that international stage by getting international backing.
Come January 2020, five finalists from the 93 Best International Feature Film submissions will be announced. The Oscars will take place on February 9 2020.
