Just when you think you have seen the best of new Nollywood, the filmmakers are diving into completely new movie concepts. A sci-fi such as with ‘Ratnik’ and a number of new genres including supernatural – that’s the future of Nigerian movies. A drama-oriented industry is literally saying goodbye to the genre, and they are very welcomed.
‘Ratnik’ 2019 Nigerian Movie
‘Ratnik’ is an apocalyptic Nigerian movie which the director Dimeji Ajibola, made through his production company Flipsyde Studios.
Everything about ‘Ratnik’ looks brilliant – action, makeup, costume and performances. It will most likely earn the director of the movie a new status in Nigerian filmmaking. More so, it is notably a plus to the diversity record that Nollywood seeks.
The movie stars Bolanle Ninalowo, Adunni Ade, Meg Otanwa, Karibi Fubara, Ani Iyoho, and Osas Ighodaro. ‘Ratnik’ earned seven nominations at upcoming the 2020 AMVCA Awards.
