Another directorial piece from Niyi Akinmolayan and the 10th film from Inkblot is dropping August 9. So far the plot of the new movie is hard to decipher as even the trailer gave us only music without any voices or lines. So there’s little we can say about the new Nigerian movie ‘The Set Up‘ now.
There also isn’t really any description for the movie except for the synopsis that reads: ‘A young woman gets more than she bargains for and is drawn into a web of deceit when she is hired by a socialite to assist with his scheme to marry a wealthy heiress.’ Almost nothing else is known. So we are digging into Niyi’s past movies to find clues on what the movie will look like.
What To Expect From New Nigerian Movie ‘The Set Up’
Niyi uses an idealistic approach for all movies he directs and by default, his movies are penetrating. His artistic works deserve to be seen in the best pictures.
From the trailer and synopsis, women seem to be playing a big role in ‘The Set Up’ like most of his films. But the surprise element really is that the movie looks nothing close to emotional. It will be huge in scope.
Niyi’s doesn’t do low-budget when it comes to making movies. Even though the budget of this one is not known, it seems like it will be giving out the most technically compelling story. He works original ideas into his new films and will certainly infuse new concepts in the new movie. ‘The Set Up’ stars Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Jim Iyke, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Tina Mba, Joke Silva, Kehinde Bankole, and Ayoola Ayoola.
