While many believe that acting skills are inborn, we like to argue with the fact that every profession requires practice. Many actors seen in Nigerian movies today became successful without taking any acting classes. However, the competition today is so much now, one needs to be steps ahead. An actor needs to have a good formation which will not falter as they progress in all fields of acting – TV or film.
Before proceeding into the craft, ask yourself what skills or talent you have and don’t have. This tells you which of these classes you are to take. No matter where your acting career path is taking you, these lessons you are learning should enable to pump up your acting skill and talent.
Reading Classes
Consider beginning your acting courses with a reading class. You get to practice with other actors and strengthen your reading skills. With this skill, you can easily navigate a script and nail the heart of every scene.
Commercial and Voice-over Classes
While animated filmmaking is still growing in Nollywood, voice-over actors are still needed for commercials and jingles. Your approach to film acting should be different from the way you approach commercial acting. These kinds of acting classes teach you how to differentiate your performances for Nigerian movies and commercials.
Body and Movement Classes
Body and movement classes strengthen your physical expressions skills. There are ways to move the arms, legs, head as wells as interact with other actors. While learning these reflexes, it shapes the mind to respond to other peoples actions quickly and helps your cognisance.
