African movies and the industries at large have one thing in common, low quality and bad stories regardless of which country it is. However, visual art is perfected over time even for the greatest filmmakers in the world. Which is why Africa is going to get better.
There have been great moments for films from Africa including Oscar Award wins for Morrocan and Algerian films. But they are so little and does not make up for the entire continent.
As more international film festivals begin to accommodate Africa, it is a sign that they want to hear what Africa has to say. Hence, providing pure entertainment might be a good way to proceed in Africa.
While that is expected, we will be keeping track and letting you know what becomes of African movies. From South Africa to Ghana, Tanzania and Nigeria, Nollymania is posting new sources all over to get the words out as they happen.
Nollymania is also looking to connect with film festivals, producers and more actors around Africa. They will be giving us the inside stories and giving you answers when you need them. Remember to like and follow Nollymania on social media and contact us if you have film-related issues.
Good entertainment isn’t cheap, but money has nothing to do with good stories – Christina
