The award season is indeed an amazing season in the entertainment industries in Africa. The organizers of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) have officially kicked off the chain of events to honour the best African TV and movie stars of 2019. Here is a guide to the events which will run within the next few months.
The 2019 Africa Movie Academy Awards season opened with a workshop and training program in Enugu. A number of recognizable faces of Nollywood, including Chidimma and Chidiebere Aneke, were in attendance. Jim Jermanok, a former ICM agent, was present to speak to the over 200 participants.
Following that, the organisers held a Homecoming Gala to celebrate the eastern stars. Tonight, a number of AGN (Actors Guild of Nigeria) members, cast and crew, gathered to honours stars who emerged from the east. With actors like Ofia-Afuluagu Mbaka and Patience Ozokwor leading the group, it was everything to see.
