Nollywood actors don’t take risks in making movies or putting themselves in character. They don’t alter their body or looks to be in character, and Nollywood is to a large extent failing in character creation. No characters seem to be beating Mr Ibu, Funke Akindele’s ‘Jenifa’ and Aki & Pawpaw in popularity so far.
Muna (Adesua Etomi)
Adesua Etomi has retained the character name Muna from a previous movie titled ‘Falling’. However, the two characters have little resemblance. ‘Falling’, is an astute romantic drama set around the life of a young girl, Muna, who despite her sympathetic situation, was resilient. But time and family put pressure on her to abandon her husband who’s in a coma, and move on. For the upcoming movie ‘Muna’, we picture the character in a samurai suit. The screenwriter has created a girl who learns about life the hard way, which turns her into an aggressive killer.
Akpos (AY Makun)
The adventure of Akpos began with AY’s comedy career. He took it to the big screen and now Akpos turns up in most movies AY produces. Following the success of ’30 Days in Atlanta’, we saw Akpos in two more movies, ‘10 Days in Sun City‘ and ‘A Trip to Jamaica’. After playing several different characters in the last years, AY could bring back Akpos soon. It has been confirmed that the actor recently signed a deal to make a movie, ’30 Days in China’ with Huahua Media.
