Netflix has bought the rights to Kunle Afolayan’s new movie ‘Citation’ which is to launch exclusively on the platform on November 6.
Kunle Afolayan had shared a first look of the film with a poster along with the news of the soundtrack without mentioning the release date.
‘Citation’, post-production was apparently cut short by the pandemic leading to an early release according to Kunle Afolyan’s post. The film which is themed on violence against women had been in the making for a little over a year.

‘Citation’ is a production of Golden Effects Pictures & KAP Motion Pictures. The team of filmmakers working on ‘Citation’ had earlier said that violence against women is the backdrop of the movie.
Kunle Afolayan and his team used locations around Nigeria, Senegal and Cape Verde during production. The project got a lot of support from partners in Nigeria and beyond and we will get more details of all partners soon.
