HBO miniseries “The Outsider” recently announced their cast list. It includes British-Nigerian actress, Cynthia Erivo.
Other names also on the new cast list include Paddy Considine, Bill Camp, Yul Vasquez, Marc Menchaca, and Mare Winningham.
Cynthia Erivo’s character Holly Gilbey, an amateur and smart detective, was originally written as a Caucasian woman.
The outsider takes its story from Stephen King’s novel of the same name. It is about the murder investigation of a young boy by a private investigator and a local police officer. The series quickly veers into the horror as the most disturbing and supernatural events unfold.
Cynthia Erivo is mostly notable for her performance as Cecil in the 2015 musical “The Colour Purple”. She won 2 awards for her effort. Also, she appeared in the movie “Widows” as well as in “Bad Times at the El Royale”.
