You haven’t seen weirdness in movie industries until you have visited the Nigerian film industry Nollywood. There is basically nothing that happens among Nollywood actors that don’t make it to social media. As much they try to reserve personal details including relationships and affairs, they often leave traces to what they do outside acting.
What Do Dating And Relationships Look Like In Nollywood?
Relationships and affairs in Nollywood are terrible. One thing that is startling about Nollywood is that very few actors there seem to date. To be honest, we don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing but for some reason, this interests a lot of people. You would imagine that when actors play onscreen couples in movies, it is natural to fall in love and date.
That doesn’t appear to happen in Nollywood. They are either very good at keeping it all a secret, or it doesn’t happen. So when the media mentions actors who have dated each other, it is often deceptive and no one has proofs.
Also, in most film industries, celebrities would have at least one other celebrity they will like to meet in their lifetime. But this looks different in Nollywood since they often hate to admit that they are fans of their own colleagues. When Nollywood actors run into each other, foreign celebrities or a role model, things get really awkward.
It doesn’t matter how much they wished to meet the person, they still manage to keep their cool and not lose it like most normal people. Nollywood is different in all scope from other film industries, influenced by belief, religion and culture. These things are some of the things that also make Nollywood stand out and it is quality.
