Pick a Hero – If you don’t already have anyone in mind before deciding to write a Nollywood movie script, there are ways that you can pick a hero for your script. You can find a character among people you know in real life and create your story around that person.
This is also how you can create a character profile throughout your work. It is important to know as much as possible about this character as this will help you see the script character as a real person.
Create a Conflict – When people watch movies, it tends to remind them that crises and conflicts do not only happen to them. So when there’s no conflict in your story, it’s not real. The story has to be intense and present some real-life problems.
If everyone and everything in your story is peaceful and happy, then you have no story. Now that you have a hero, you are allowed to make the whole story about him. He must face some hurdles or roadblocks to reach a goal.
Create Moments – Moments are the scenes, actions and words the audience will never forget about a movie. Even the actor’s lookout for this when they are given a script. To create these moments, you have to spend time on each character and examine their strength and frailty to enable you to create tension. Every character in the story is worth a moment.
